ANGLICAN PRIMATES RESPOND TO ARCHBISHOP OF CANTERBURY’S REQUEST ON LETTERS FOR CREATION

Leaders of some of the Anglican Communion’s 39 provinces have responded to the Archbishop of Canterbury’s invitation to write Letters for Creation To help promote the Season of Creation, which runs from 1 September to 4 October, Archbishop Justin asked his fellow Primates to set out what “the care for God’s creation” means in their Province; and what they wanted to say to the wider Anglican Communion about “the care for our common home”. The responses have now been published by the Church of England’s environment programme.

DROUGHT RELIEF APPEAL

Anglican Aid is working with the Diocese of Armidale, and other dioceses affected by the drought in NSW and southern Queensland. Support to provide practical support to families affected by the drought, including food and clothing vouchers, feed for stock, and water to refill depleted tanks.

CONSECRATION OF 13TH BISHOP OF GIPPSLAND

The consecration of Gippsland’s new Bishop at St Paul’s Cathedral in Melbourne is a family affair.

Few episcopal consecrations feature two young children in prominent roles, but seven-year-old Rachel Treloar and her brother Nicholas (six) played their part as their father, Dr Richard Treloar, became a bishop at Melbourne’s St Paul’s Cathedral on 21 July.
